There are many different kind of latern and lamps in Japan – Andon, Bondiri, Chochin, Toro. This is a Toro type of Japanese lamp. It is used to lighting a buddhis temples, Shinto shrines and traditional Japanese gardens.

This lamp is made of wood and paper. In the old Times for the light was used oil and candles.
